DDC visits Behra Village, interacts with locals

Poonch, Jan 31: In order to remain in touch with the people, District Development Commissioner, Mohd Haroon Malik along with district officer visited several areas of district here today.
Sources said, the DDC Paid a visit to Behra village where some of the influential families have encroached the government, land and raised a few illegal structure on it.
It is pertinent to mention that Early Times have carried series of news stories regarding the encroachment of Govt land in Behra village under Khasra No. 689 measuring more than 300 kanals, in its previous editions which according to sources has been proposed for sports stadium. An FIR against 21 persons stands registered in this regards in Police Station Mendhar.
Taking the cognizance of media report DDC Poonch MH Malik today took the extensive tour of the several areas including Behra village in Mendhar Tehsil along with District Officers Tehsildar Mendhar, Salam Din, Sub Divisional Magistrate Thakur Sher Singh, SDPO Shahid Nayeem, Tehsildar Mankote Shehzad Chowdhary, Naib Tehsildar Aftab Hussain and Police personnel. He interacted with the families who encroached the Government land.
While talking to them DDC urged for brotherhood and harmony. He also asked them to objey the law of the land. The encroachers ensured DDC to remove the illegally raised structures on the land provided that Govt. ensures the illegal occupation 70-80 families who have been able to mutate the government land will be removed with an immediate effect.
The DDC assured them that a legal action will be initiated against all those who have occupied the Government land illegally. If anybody found guilty will be put behind the bars. On the assurance of DDC, the families agreed the vocate the land and remove the structure raised on it. Meanwhile DDC Poonch paid a visit to Sub district hospital Mendhar, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr. Zulfkar Chowdhary put the demand regarding shortage of staff and other facilities in the hospital. The DDC said that he will keep these demands before the relevant fora. He further laid stress to work with brotherhood and harmony. These should be peaceful environment everywhere and for this purpose we all have to work together, he maintained.
