Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 13: Believe it or not, former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed is still as the president and Imran Raza Ansari, as Minister for Youth Services & Sports and vice-president of the J&K Sports Council, courtesy lackadaisical and lethargic approach of nodal authority which once again set tongue wagering not in sports sphere but also in common masses for it pitiful functioning of routine affairs including 'official website updation."
Although Ex-Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's promised e-Governance plan is yet to take off in several departments of the state and where it has been initiated it is falling flat reasons better known to concerned officials at helms of affairs.
In a glaring example of the lethargic and lackadaisical approach of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, the 'official website of department' which is the face to online visitors, the site till date is showing former Chief Minister late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed as the president and Imran Raza Ansari, as Minister for Youth Services & Sports and vice-president of the Council.
However the fact here is- Ex- Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed is no more but the officials have failed to update their website of Council even after the sudden demise of the then chief minister on January 7.
Whether they wanted to show more loyalty towards the late King or it could be some other reason but the visitors are getting an odd experience while as the website still showing the same officials as members.
The problem with the non updation of the website has left several Righ to Information (RTI) activists and other concerned in dilemma about whom to contact about their grievances as all names and contact details of the members of the council as well as different divisions of the department still are same as shown in the previous year.
Perhaps the sports council officials might have skipped the news about oath ceremony of new chief minister but everyone sane citizen knew that Mehbooba mufti has taken the oath as new CM last week after the then chief minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed breathed his last early this year ironically till now the department has failed to update its website.
Pertinently funds in crores are being diverted every year from various agencies including Central Government as well as State Government for the smooth functioning of various government departments but the officials at the helm of affairs apparently have gone lethargic to utilize the same amount effectively and are sluggish in the updation.
Several attempts to contact Sports Council, went in vain there was none available to take call.
