Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 13: In an alleged case of 'display of power' by a J&K cabinet minister, two army jawans were 'wrongly' got booked by him even as his vehicle had hit their motorcycle on the lower Akhnoor road near here. According to police sources, two soldiers - Sanjay Kumar and Rajinder Kumar -- were Wednesday going on a motorcycle when the vehicle of a minister, who was on a tour of Domana, allegedly hit their two-wheeler near Nagbani. As the collision led to arguments between them, those accompanying the minister called up the concerned police which immediately reached the spot. Acting swiftly to please the minister, without even verifying who actually was at fault, police booked the jawans and took them to the police station, sources informed. While the minister's staff alleged that the motorcyclists had hit their vehicle, eyewitnesses claimed that it was actually the minister's vehicle that had hit the two-wheeler, sources said. Sources said police were called only after the jawans argued with the minister and his staff, offending them. |
