Katra, May 18: Wrestler Benia Min of Basantgarh in District Udhampur clinched 5th Hut-Parthal Kesari Vishal Dangal. The Dangal organized by Hut- Parthal Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, at Serbad, Katra in District Reasi wherein about all 78 bouts were played and an expenditure of Rs. 2,63,000/- has been incurred for conduct of the one day dangal. In the first malli main bout, Benia Min outplayed Manna of Chandigarh. Winner Benia was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 17,000/- and 5 Kg Desi Ghee while Manna got Rs. 14,000/-. The Second main bout won by Major of Ludhiana who defeated Ishaq (Lalu) of Bajrangi Akhara. Winner Major was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 9,000/- and 5 Kg Desi Ghee while Lalu got Rs. 6,000. Third bout went to Nisar of Doda of J&K Police who defeated Sintu of Jassa Ram Akhara Delhi. Rs. 31,000/- has been contributed by Pritam Singh wazir to the organizer. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma, Treasurer ISWAI, Associate Vice President WFI and President Senior Citizen Welfare Forum Katra was the chief guest, who gave away cash prizes to the Wrestlers while DSP Katra Dr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Social Activist and Wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma and Advocate Pawan Dev Singh were guests of Honor. Pritam Singh Wazir, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Om Parkash Verma, Sarpanch Ratten Singh, Sarpanch Baldev Singh, Sarpanch Sukh Dev Singh, Contractor Dina Nath, Rajinder Kumar Ramotra and Brij Mohan were among those prominent present. Members and Technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of this one day dangal included Sarpanch Ratan Singh (President), Pritam Singh Wazir (Chairman), Contractor Dina Nath, Deepak Singh Wazir, Roshan Lal, Makhan Singh, Prabh Dayal, Mohan Singh, Prem Chand, Som Raj Sharma, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Sunil Singh (Sonu) Panch, Ramesh Singh, Numberdar Prem Singh, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Raj Kumar Sharma, Mohd. Fareed. Om Parkash Verma, Raj Singh, Tulinder Kumar, Rajinder Kumar and Murli Dhar (Munna). Gurpreet of Chandigarh was declared best wrestler of Dangal and was awarded with 5 Kg Desi Ghee, cash Rs 1,100/- and Mata Ki Chunni. |
