Early Times Report Jammu, May 18: The district police establishment is all set to shift all the 'tainted' Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors (SIs) from police stations and police posts to less important places. Senior officers in the district police set up had been keeping an eye on the working of all SHOs and police post (PP) heads in Jammu district for the past one month or so. "The under-performers and those, who are faced with serious allegations of corruption and acts of professional misconduct, are likely to shifted. The officers have made an inventory of theirs," police sources said. They would be replaced by the officers who had a proved track record in the state police, the sources added, saying that while scanning the work of SHOs and PP heads, a senior district police officer had also reprimanded many of them on telephone. Sources said 'favoutites' of some senior officers were also likely to be posted as SHOs and PP heads in the city as and when the transfer list of 'tainted' officers was issued. "A tussle has now started in the district police among officers to get posted as SHOs and PP heads. At least half a dozen of them, who are attached to the DPL, are also said to have activated their resources," the sources added. The shake up was expected in near future, sources said. |
