| As ministers turn cold shoulders, BJP Karikartas are frustrated lot | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 18: With negative role of Party ministers and leaders, the BJP Karikarta is a frustrated lot in the State at present.
According to Party sources no minister or senior leader likes to entertain his Party workers and considers it obligatory to attend him or listen to the problems of his area and people to be highlighted by him.
The majority of Partymen are dejected with this behaviour of senior leaders in BJP or its ministers, sources said, adding such a situation can create a void between Party leadership and ground level workers.
Sources said the non performance of BJP ministers has reached to such an alarming level that even the bureaucrats in Civil Secretariat or heads of departments outside don't entertain the Party ministers and their letters of recommendations given by them to Partymen etc.
Recently a party functionary had been given a letter by a senior BJP Minister on JDA and the officer at the helm of affairs outright rejected the recommendation, sources said. The party activist is presently making rounds daily in corridors of power at Srinagar but the BJP Minister does not entertain him.
Sources said that there is also lack of coordination among the Party leadership and ministers and one minister does not like to entertain and oblige other. The recent episode of sacking of a senior Party leader from the council of ministers was that he too objected his senior ministerial colleague of not entertaining his recommendation of a Partyman. This infuriated the junior fellow who said that tomorrow I too will not entertain your recommendation or letter'', sources added.
Sources said the ministers of the party also lack coordination and cooperation and the Party leadership has failed to rope in them knowing fully that such a behavior of the ministers will harm the Party's image in future.
With Party ministers at war with each other the bureaucracy is taking the wrong advantage of the same and they also don't entertain the people especially the BJP workers visiting their offices with genuine public issues.
One party worker who has been elected as a representative of a Government body at national level for the State had demanded issuance of a vehicle to him. Though the OSD of a concerned Minister gave him a letter on Director Estates in this regard the later refuted to entertain the same on the ground that he needs a government order in this regard. But no BJP Minister dared to get an order issued by JDA regarding the allotment of the vehicle. The Party activist is making rounds of civil Secretariat since but no one is ready to entertain the same. |
