Jammu, May 18 : The crime branch (CB) of J&K police has booked a cop who had allegedly got job in police department on fake certificates. CB sources said Atta Mohammad Naik, son of Mohammad Ramzan Naik of Chacknarwah, Banihal, was an illiterate but he managed fake certificates to get a job in police department. A written complaint in this regard was filed with state vigilance commission (SVC) in Srinagar by one Abdul Rashid Sohil, son of Habibullah Sohil of Chacknarwah. He alleged that Naik, who had submitted fake certificates to secure a job in police department, was at present serving as a barber in IRP 9th Bn at Maitra. He also alleged that the cop was an illiterate person. He also pointed out that his date of birth was entered in his service book as April 1, 1969 and date of appointment as December 24, 1985 which meant that he was appointed in the department at the age of 16 when he was underage. On the receipt of this complaint, SVC got the matter enquired through the commandant of IRP 9th Bn. On the basis of the commandant's report, SVC passed an order on November 30, 2015, directing DGP to register a formal case in the matter. PHQ subsequently referred the matter to CB which found out that though Atta Mohammad was ineligible and underage at the time of his appointment, he was appointed in violation of rules by then commandant of JKAP 4th Bn against fake documents. CB has booked Atta Mohammad under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of RPC. (JNF) |
