KPC warns against sabotaging passage of Shrines Bill
5/18/2016 11:15:55 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 18 Taking serious exception of the statement of Hindu Dharam Sthan Raksha Manch and earlier by Sadhu Dharam Sathan Surakshan Samiti in regard to Hindu Shrines Bills, the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) President Kundan Kashmiri today said that some forces are hell bent to sabotage the passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines Management and Protection Bill,
Terming the statement of Manch and Samiti totally unfortunate, the leaders of Kashmiri Pandit conference (KPC) and its like minded other KP organisations urged the Dharma Sthan Raksha Manch and Sadhu Samaj to refrain from making any such statement as religious platforms and seers are taken into high esteem by the entire Kashmiri Hindu society. "Their indulgence and interference in the affairs of Shrines Bill will send a wrong signal among the Hindus of the country and world, they added.
Meantime President Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) Kundan Kashmiri while reacting to the statement of Dharma Sthan Raksha Manch and others said that it is quite unbelievable that the statements have come from such religious platform and earlier by Sadhu Samaj itself that Kashmiri Pandits have left the Valley after selling their property as well as the temples.
"Such a statement is not only bereft of facts but insulting to a community which has sacrificed everything for upholding dharma, he said, adding, "the entire Sadhu Samaj is fully aware of situation and circumstances that led to mass exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Valley in 1989-90 when militancy engulfed the Valley."
KPC Chief said that Dharma Sathan Raksha Manch and earlier by Sadhu Samaj has made remarks against the community is more unfortunate and they must recall that the Pandits have made a lot of contribution towards Indian culture and toward Hindu religion. "By leveling false and baseless allegations against a community which is demanding passage of shrines and religious places bill for their management and upkeep Sadhu Samaj has unnecessarily tried to be fish in troubled waters on the behest of some vested interests, he added.
Expressing his surprise over such statements KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri said that KPs have nothing to do or interfere with the temples or religious places governed by the Manch or Sadhu Samaj in Kashmir. "Instead KPs are demanding the passage of religious places and shrines Bill for Valley and not for the entire state, he said and added that there are hundreds of such temples in Kashmir Valley which were managed by the community itself and no member of community is involved in disposing of their property.
Citing some examples the famous shrines of Chakreshwar, Gupt Ganga, Nagbal Anantnag, Tirath Raj Lok Bhawan, Karkoot Nag, Kheer Bhawani Manzgam, Kheer Bhawani Raithan Badgam, Abhinav Gupt Gufa, Beerawa, Amarnath Shrine Thajiwara, Mahadev, Harishwar Khunmoh, Baladevi etc are still manfed by the community.
KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri said that the constitution of Shrine Board will pave a way for their proper management and upkeep, adding the Dharma Santha Rakasha Manch and sadhu Samaj should have no objection if the law is enacted for their protection at par with religious places of Muslims and Sikhs religious place in the valley. He also appealed the Govt to table the shrine bill in state assembly in the session starts from May 25,
