EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 25: Reaching out to the youth in his first ever Republic Day message, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that being young he was aware of the problem of the youth and ending their unemployment will remain his priority sector. In his Republic Day message to the people Omar said that he has a dream to make Jammu and Kashmir a developed and prosperous State even as he sought cooperation from everyone to realize this vision. Abdullah promised a responsive, people-friendly and accountable administration and enunciated the agenda of his Government. He spelt out his priorities in making Jammu and Kashmir a role model State. He said youth are the greatest treasure of any nation and it is imperative that this human resource is properly channelized, adding that he himself is young and fully aware about the problems of the youth. AGENCIES New Delhi, Jan 25: K C Verma, the Internal Security Advisor to Home Minister P Chidambaram, will be the next chief of country's external intelligence agency RAW. Verma, a 1971-batch Jharkhand cadre officer will take over the responsibility after the tenure of the incumbent Ashok Chaturvedi comes to an end on January 31, official sources said. The officer was earlier appointed as the head of the Narcotics Control Bureau in 2005, before being elevated as Secretary (Security) in the Cabinet Secretariat, they said. AGENCES New Delhi, Jan 25: President Pratibha Patil has approved the award of the Ashok Chakra, the highest gallantry award in peacetime, to 9 security personnel who laid down their lives fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, Mumbai and New Delhi.
