| SSP, two Inspectors appear on SIT radar | | Nagar, brothers move bail plea | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 1: As the muddy pitch of corruption and crime deepens, an officer of the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police and two Inspectors, one of them posted in Jammu district, are believed to be on the radar of Special Investigation Team for their alleged role in fixing up a deal with the already suspended and arrested Police officers and the family of main accused Jatinder Singh alias Raja for destroying evidence in Amandeep Singh murder case.
Meanwhile, even as the Special Investigation Team has lodged an FIR against murder accused’s father and uncles Nagar Singh, Ujjagar Singh and Rakesh Singh, the trio at large has moved a pre-arrest bail application in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. A local court has issued notice for objection to the SIT counsels for the accused said that the brothers –Choudhary Nagar, Ujjagar and Rakesh –were ready to cooperate with the investigation and therefore should be released on bail immediately, if they are arrested in case FIR number 247/2009 of Police Station Gandhi Nagar.

Jammu, Oct 1: It may be victory for the government which has been exploring possibilities of voluntary retirement options for the sick PSUs, more than 3700 employees of the moribund State Road Transport Corporation today submitted their enmasse resignation after 37 days of strikes and protests.
The President of the SRTC employees union Shakeel Ahmed Kuchay confirmed to the Early Times that employees have tendered their resignation as the government was not able to resolve the salary and arrear impasse. Jammu, Oct 1: The state cabinet which met in Srinagar this evening is reported to have approved almost all the recommendation of Prime Minister’s working group and apex committee about KPs return to the valley. However, the decision on jab package is reported to have been deferred.

Jammu, Oct 1: Within ten days after serious violation of the ceasefire in Mendhar sector, the Pakistani Rangers today resorted to heavy firing along the International Border at Mandral post in RS Pura sector near here.
Sources said that the firing broke out around 9PM and was going till last reports poured in. BSF and Police sources said that the firing from other side of the International Border was clearly an attempt to push in the armed militants.
Sources said that one infiltrator was shot dead by the BSF troopers in fierce exchange of fire who identity was yet to be confirmed.

Jadgish Keshwan who has long been on central deputation has been brought back as Principal Chief Conservator of the Forests. Decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting held in Srinagar today.
Keshwan has replaced the incumbent Irshad Ahmed Khan who has been moved as Chief Wildlife Warden. Until now the post of Chief Wildlife Warden was held by RD Tiwari, who is also the Director of the prestigious State Forest Research Institute.
