| Glimpses of Rajiv as Rahul speaks | | Nehru-Gandhi scion seeks absolute mandate for Congress | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Tangdhar/Udhampur, Nov 28: Even as the shades of a ‘younger Rajiv’ were clearly visible, the crowds apparently had more interest in catching a glimpse of him than taking his speech as the Congress General Secretary and scion of Nehru-Gandhi family, Rahul Gandhi addressed his maiden public meetings in Jammu and Kashmir.
Unlike other Congress leaders who have been giving one line in Jammu and another in Kashmir, Rahul had a focused approach on entire Jammu and Kashmir and his speech did not make any attempt of drawing regional lines as he addressed one public meeting in Tangdhar area of Kupwara district and other in Udhampur.
The Congress General Secretary focused mainly on peace and development and sought absolute mandate for his party to steer Jammu and Kashmir ahead on path of progress and development. PCC President Saif-ud-Din Soz, former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Union Minister Prithviraj Singh Chavan also accompanied Rahul Gandhi who was on his maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir after joining active politics.
He urged voters to give a clear maj...

Jammu, Nov 28: Every act of terrorism anywhere in country always sends Jammu and Kashmir in a tizzy as it triggers a blame game between India and Pakistan and threatens the peace process involving this state.
As Mumbai terror trail assumes larger proportions than any incident of terrorism in post-independence history of India, the intellegentia, political and business class are getting wary of its repercussions. There is a strong urge from all that the Mumbai attack should not be allowed to derail the peace process between India and Pakistan and both the countries have to fight the scourge of terrorism together.

Jammu, Nov 28: In the backyard of winter Capital City, contest is getting intensive in Nagrota constituency between National Conference, BJP and Congress and the challenges are more from the rebels than from opponents.
After Bhaderwah, Nagrota is one such constituency in Jammu and Kashmir which has a record of going for change every election. Till 1983, this constituency was named as Jandrah Gharota but in any case Nagrota has refused to repeat any candidate who once won from there. Even if someone contested after a break of one term the constituency still preferred a new face over the tried one.
Traditionally a Congress bastion Nagrota slipped out of the party hands i...
