| PDP flays coalition for failure in healthcare sector | | |

Rajouri, Dec 13: Senior PDP leader Shahzad Khan has lambasted the present coalition govt over its failure to address the degrading health sector in the state. Shahzad addressing a press conference in Thanamandi said that the world has entered the cyber age, where in operations are performed with the aid of computers, but unfortunately we don't have the basic diagnostic equipments like X-Ray,CT-Scan machines leave alone such computers. He said that the health seactor is in shambles and the state govt has no shame to improve the condition of the health seactor.He said that it is unfortunate that the people are not safe in the state and that they have to go out of the state for medical counselling and diagnosis. Shahzad said that not only rural and backward ,even if state capitals the hospitals are poorly equipt as the diagnostic equipments are either non functioning or not at all present. The condition in rural backward and border area pathetic with neither doctors nor medical facilities present there.He said PHC's in border distt of Rajouri lack the basic minimum facilities including a doctor there by forcing the people to approach the distt hospital and even jammu. The PHC's are often seen locked with a chowkidar basking in the sun he said lack of doctors and paramedicos add to the woes of the people.There are no ambulance in these far flung areas and it is the army who cater to the needs of the villagers. He said that the people are forced to walk several kilometers to reach the nearest PHC to get medical aid which otherwise should have been made available at their doorsteps of the NHRM, unfortunately the health mission has been defunct. |
