| JMC employees allege bunglings in purchases, GPF | | Finger of suspicion on Chief Accounts Officer | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 13: While State Vigilance Organization is probing scams in Jammu Municipal Corporation, yet another bungling of lakhs of rupees has surfaced in the urban body. The scam of purchasing sub standard material and mismanagement in GP fund has been brought to the notice of JMC Commissioner KL Khajuria by the employees of the Corporation. A delegation of employees met the JMC Commissioner and lodged their resentment in providing them sub standard rain coats. They also apprised him that their GP fund of the year 2012 was not submitted to the GP Fund office. The JMC authorities ordered rain coats of Duck Back company for sanitary inspectors and sanitary supervisors. The responsibility was entrusted to Chief Accounts Officer Umar Khan , however, to their surprise, the sub standard rain coats were provided to them, though the amount was charged for superior quality. the employees are now pointing the finger of suspicion in the deal on the Chief Accounts Officer. Further, it has been alleged that the GP Fund of the employees for the year 2012 was not submitted in the GP Fund office. The JMC authorities deduct GP fund from the salaries of the employees ranging Rs 2000 to Rs 10,000 every month. The employees have demanded probe into both these incidents of financial misappropriation. |
