Bharat Nirman PIC evokes good response on second day

KATHUA, Dec 13: Bharat Nirman Public Information campaign held at Hiranagar received good response from public including youth from different educational institutional and Nehru Yuva Kendra Kathua.
Subash Gupta, MLC was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest inspected the various stalls put up by different departments, corporations and NGOs.
Speaking on the occasion, he underlined the importance of holding such campaign in boarder belt of the district which has a considerable population of weaker sections of the societies including SCs/STs and OBCs. Expressing hope that the people of the areas will come forward to get maximums information about the flagship programmes and will approach to the concern implementing agencies for their socio-economic upliftment. Subash Gupta stressed upon Panchs and Sarpanchs to mobilize the villagers from adjoining areas to make the campaign successful and result oriented event.
Media advisor to J&K Government, Bharti Vaid also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the activities of different media units of central & State government and their role in disseminating awareness among the masses.
On the occasion DAVP,DFP and PIB besides other state government departments distributed literature among the participants containing detailed information about MGNREGA, NRHM, SSA, ICDS, JNNURM, PMGSY, IAY, midday meal schemes, Bharat Niraman components, PMs New 15-point programmes for the welfare of the minorities and Right to information Act.
The troops from Song and Drama Division Ministry of Information& Broadcasting, Government of India and District Information centre, Kathua besides school children presented theme based cultural items.
The Information Department also organized a Mushaira in which poets from different areas of Kathua district participated.
The stall titled Bharat Nirman-the nation marches ahead organized by DAVP was the main attraction for the visitors on the second day of PIC Hiranagar.
