Demanding Lok Pal, Jammu activist continues fast on 137th consecutive day

Jammu, Dec 13: Expressing concerns over the prevalent corruption in various departments in state, Om Parkash Sharma a social worker against corruption and follower of Anna Hazare on his fast on 137th consecutive day, reiterated his demand for strong Lok Pal to end corruption from state.
Regretting the corruption in Jammu and Kashmir has touched the ridiculous heights Sharma stated that he had pledged not to take food till a strong Loka Yukt is not brought by the J&K Government and strong Lok Pal Bill by the central Government. In his statement Om Parkash alleged that the state administration is encouraging the corrupt machinery in the department and flouting the rules of law. He said that vide letter PS/CS-08/2011 dated24.11.2011 alongwith copy of the PMO’s letter No25/3/2011-PMP4/312512 dtd 01.08.11 to submit a report on the complaint against the then Labour commissioner J&K within the scheduled time but the General Adminis-trative Deptt yet has not replied to the application against the RTI Act, he alleged.
