Rajouri, Dec 13: Following the directions issued from the Minister for Health and Secretary to Government, Health and Medical Education Depart-ment and Director, Health Services, Jammu, the district administration seized three un-registered and illegal Ultra-Sound Clinics in district Rajouri today.
According to official reports, District Develop-ment Commissioner (DDC), Rajouri Saugat Biswas constituted the teams comprising of Assistant Commis-sioner (Revenue) S D Singh, Dr Baldev Sharma, Deputy Director, Health Services Headquarter Jammu, besides Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri Dr Zahoor Ahmed Shawl and Sadiq Khan, District Mass Media Officer, Health conducted surprised raids along with police party at three different un-registered clinics simultaneously early in this morning.
"Two illegal ultra-sound machines were seized from the clinics running under the name and style of M/s Showkat Mehmood Health Care Ultra-sound Centre near Old District Hospital, Rajouri, M/S Rifat Ara MCH Ultra-sound Centre, Kheora, Rajouri and (M/S SS Medicos, Kheora near New District Hospital, Rajouri, said official spokesperson further adding that another un-registered clinic has also been locked and sealed.
Similarly, Dr. Baldev Sharma, Deputy Director Jammu along with Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri Dr Zahoor Ahmed Shawl inspected two registered Ultra-Sound clinics at Sunderbani and found these two clinics fulfilling the criteria under PC&PNDT Act. The team also inspected Ultra-sound clinic of District Hospital, Rajouri which has also been found fulfilling the criteria under PC&PNDT Act. The other three registered private Ultra-sound clinics had also fulfilled the criteria under PC&PNDT Act in the district.
Dr Baldev Sharma said, "On the basses of confirmed reports about running illegal sex determinations in these clinics, the health department made plan to raid all illegally running ultrasound clinics on same time with directions of director health".
