| SE orders on spot inspection after school authority shows dissatisfaction over Const plan | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri , Feb 20: Following the objections raised by the principal of Government Higher Secondary School Chingus, Rajouri regarding unsatisfactorily construction plan of four rooms complex, Superintendent Engineer (SE) Public Works Department (PWD) directed a team of engineers to visit the school today. Showing their dissatisfaction over the construction plan, Suraj Parkash , Principal and his staff of the above mentioned school alleged that rain water seep in 11 rooms out of 13 in the old complex. "These rooms are not safe and the management is also facing difficulties to save the computer labs, library books, school records etc while the new under construction four room complex which is being constructed on the same plan and design on which the old complex was constructed many years ago, they said further pin pointing that the two rooms of new complex (under construction) completed last year are facing the same problems during rain. Principal, the whistle blower further added that the PWD department undertaking the construction project of new complex never has discussed the plan and design to the school management and the matter was also taken up three times with the Chief Education Officer between June , 2012 and January, 2013. According to school management the construction of four additional class rooms project was started about three years ago with a cost of Rs 35.70 lakhs and two rooms were finished till the end of last year. Principal of school further said that according to some officials the design and plan of the new complex of four rooms does not match with the 'universal design' approved for the state as claimed by the PWD department. When contacted PB Gandhi SE, PWD briefly said, " The matter was brought to my notice on Tuesday only and I have directed the Executive Engineer to depute a team of the experts to visit the spot to verify the complaints about the design, plan and construction.
