Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 20: The work in Police Department in particular and State Government in general is likely to suffer as eight police officers having IPS rank are on verge of retirement this year. Amazingly all of them hail from the State. While the government should be making arrangements to ensure its smooth functioning after the retirement of said officials, it seems in no mood to effect postings of 4 IGPs, 5 DIGs and 11 SSPs cleared by The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) on December 12 last year. These police officers including Ram Lubaya , IGP, retiring in the month of March, Farooq Khan, IGP, retiring in the month of September, Rouful Hassan, IGP, retiring in the month of September, Rajinder Gupta, DIG, retiring in the month of June, Abdul Hamid,DIG, retiring in the month of September, Israr Khan, SSP, retiring in the month of November, Ragubir Singh, SSP, retiring in the month of August and Manmohan Singh, SSP, retiring in the month of November. If the police sources are to be believed, the police officers who are on verge of retirement have proved their mettle and there are some sons of soil who are intelligent enough and need the government attention to adjust them in key positions to ensure smooth functioning. Sources said that there is resentment among the police officers whose promotions have been cleared by the DPC but still await reshuffling. Pertinently, the officers cleared for promotion include Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir S M Sahai and IGP Jammu Dilbagh Singh. IGP Sahai has been holding the present posting for second tenure since 2010 summer while Dilbagh Singh was posted as the IGP Jammu in December 2010. The other IGPs promoted as ADGs include V K Singh, IGP Trainings and Inspections, Sheikh Owais Ahmad, IGP Personnel/Training Police Headquarters/Technical, a KPS officer, conferred IPS with effect from 1987.Five DIGs of 1995 batch, who were cleared for promotion as IGPs, include S D Singh Jamwal (on deputation with IB), S S Khandare, Officer on Special Duty in the office of DGP, Rajesh Kumar, DIG Baramulla range, T Namgyal, DIG Armed Kashmir and T Punchok, Joint Director Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur.
