Kathua, Feb 20 : Aiming to sensitize bankers on role and formation of self help group, NABARD on Wednesday organized one day district level sensitization workshop in district Kathua
According to press release DDM NABARD, Kathua Aman Kalsotra explained the role of group leaders, concept and book-keeping of SHG, activities undertaken by the SHG. He further informed about the role of bankers in SHG formation and how banks act as catalyst in SHG movement.
He spoke in detail about the social responsibilty of the SHG members, women empowerment and SHG as a medium of change in society. He exolted them to work in tandem with the banks and avail credit for improving their status.
Area Manager, J&KGB S L Sharma, interacted with the bankers and informed the role of Gramin Bank in linkage of SHG. He assured on behalf of Grameen Bank, that SHG members who want to take up economic activity and are in need of loan, will be provided credit facility by J&KGB.
He shared his experience about the SHG- bank linkage programme, which was appreciated by bankers.
Dr. Amrish Vaid, Project Coordinator, KVK, Kathua, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kathua, managers of different banks, NGO representatives and SHG members were also present on the occasion. |
