| Ultras desperate to infiltrate, but troops alert: Army | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 20 (CNS) : Asserting that ultras concentrated at various launch pads are desperate to infiltrate, 7 Sector Army Brigadier deployed at Handwara in North Kashmir today said, "Indian Army has stepped up its vigil along the Line of Control (LoC) following reports that militants were waiting to infiltrate. Talking to news agency CNS at the sidelines of a meeting with Handwara Traders Federation, 7 Sector Army Brigadier, A Arun said that the army has increased it surveillance and increased its resources along LoC, to strengthen its vigil along the borderline. Referring to some specific inputs, he said, " There are intelligence input about the militants' concentration at the launching pads across the LoC who are desperately waiting to infiltrate.' He said that militants try to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir during the first week of March and army is ready to counter them. He also added that the Army already put up fence, flood-lighting and sensors along the LoC to check infiltration. "Peo ple are exuding confidence in army which has strengthened the civil-army bond by initiating various people welfare projects under Op Sadhbhavna and this can be ascertained by the fact that Handwara Traders Federation is seeking the due help of Army," A Arun said. |
