| HSS hails implementation of section 10A of J&K MC Act 2000 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 20 : Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS) has hailed the announcement of implementation of Sec 10A of J&K Municipal Corporation Act 2000 in the forthcoming elections Urban Local Bodies elections. Addressing press conference here today, HSS President Dimpy Kohli and General Secretary G.I Singh have expressed satisfaction over Section 10A pertains to rotation of reserved wards of women, SC and ST in the Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council and Municipal Committees of the state. "In this connection HSS through Advocate Shakeel Ahmed Sheikh filed writ petition in J&K High Court for implementation of Section 10A, High court passed order in favor of HSS for strictly enforcing section 10A and direction were issued to Chief Electoral Officer , DC Jammu, Commissioner Housing and urban development for strict enforcement of this section" they said. "We also demands the delimitation of wards and inclusion of such areas like Sunjwan, Bhatindi, and some sectors of Sainik Colony.If the areas of Sidhra has been included because large number of bureaucrats and other politicians and influential people are residing in this area" they added. The HSS leaders said, "JMC has more areas and population than Srinagar but Jammu has 71 wards whereas Srinagar 75 wards. Urban Local Bodies elections were due in Feb 2010 after the expiry of 5 years term but the present Government has been delaying same on one and other pretext." |
