| Police foil bid on life, 2 arrested | | | SAMBA, Feb 20 : Police today foiled a bid on life of a youth after it nabbed two persons who had a plan to execute the murder of their rival over a property dispute. According to police sources, acting on a tip off that a youth identified Ashwani Kumar son of Banarsi Dass of Dagore, Tehsil and District Samba is being targeted by a group of miscreants, a team of Samba Police laid a trap to foil the attack. "Police arrested two accused identified as Amanpreet Singh son of Joginder Singh of Ajeetnagar, Rambagh Satwari, Jammu and Ashok Kumar son of Saroop Sharma of Nagrota Kandoli, Jammu when they had just reached Barian near Railway track to murder Ashwani over a land and shop dispute," sources said. "However, 3 other accused persons identified as Sanjeev Singh @ Sanju son of Joginder Singh of Bara, Samba, Pawan @ Pappu of Gadigarh, Jammu and Rakesh of Purani Mandi Jammu travelling in another car and some distance behind the first party learnt about the Police presence and arrest of first 2 accused persons, turned their vehicle back towards Jammu," they added. Police seized 2 Swords, 2 Khokhris and Indica Car bearing Registration No. JK02N-3969 and Motor Cycle No. JK02M-6157 from the possession of the accused and is on hot pursuit to nab other accused persons. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 39/2013 u/s 147/148/447 RPC, 4/25 Arms Act was registered at P/S Samba and investigation started. Pertinent to mention here that the main accused Sanjeev Singh @ Sanju has allegedly plotted to murder the said Ashwani Kumar in order to grab his land and shop situated at Barian Supwal Samba near Gurudwara with the help of his other accomplices. Police has opened a history sheet of the main accused Sanjeev Singh @ Sanju who already has a criminal background as he is involved in a murder case as well as other criminal cases. |
