Jammu, Mar 15: Expressing his surprise and resentment over refusal by the Minister of State for Relief and Rehabilitation, Government of J&K in Assembly to provide transit accommodation to Kashmiri Pandit (KP) migrant employees employed under "Prime Minister's Rehabilitation package for Kashmiri Migrants", renowned KP leader Shiban Dudha, has termed the statement as unfortunate and "not in line with terms of reference of the PM's relief and rehabilitation package." He however thanked and praised the majority community of Kashmir for accommodating these homeless migrant employees as tenants in their houses. In a statement, Dudha apprised the Government that brave migrant employees who have accepted the challenge and took up the employments in valley along with their families can after re-acclimatization be the potential cases who will return to valley under the PMs' return package in comparison to the rest of displaced community for whom the Government needs to first pit in place the milestones put forth by Pandit community before the Government. He stressed that maximum facilities besides accommodation in transit camps must be extended to these migrant employees and seriousness of the Government in that direction is its litmus test. |
