et plus REPORT Jammu, Mar 15: Government of Jammu and Kashmir Home Department ordered inquiry against Muneer Hussain, the then Assistant Superintendent, District Jail in alleged corruption case, official sources said. Sources said that Ashok Sharma, Deputy Secretary to Government, Home Department as per government order has been appointed as an Inquiry Officer to probe the allegations. The inquiry was instigated under the supervision of Mr Sharma after Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Orginzation (SVO) leveled serious allegations against the Assistant Superintendent District Jail. As per Home Department order Ashok Kumar has been appointed as Inquiry Officer to inquire into the charges leveled again '." "Sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of Ashok Sharma to conduct the enquiry into the charges leveled by the J&K State Vigilance Organization in FIR NO. 06/2008 against Muneer Husssain, (then Assistant Superintendent District Jail, Jammu)," the government order said further adding, " The I/O shall complete the enquiry and submit his findings/ report within a period of one month from the date of issue of this order.' Pertinently, Muneer Hussain, at present is posted as Incharge Jail Kishtwar and State Vigilance Organization started a probe after a complaint of corruption against him when he was Assistant Superintendent, District Jail Jammu. The complaint was lodged by a police officer who in his complaint alleged that Muneer Hussain, demanded and accepted Rs 5000 from him for a mulakat. However during the investigation Vigilance pointed out some more charges against him. |
