ET Plus Report rajouri, Mar 15: Director National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) Dr. Yash Pal Sharma has sought clarification on sudden increase of number in Drop Back Facilities (DBF) to pregnant mothers under Centrally Sponsored Scheme Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) in border district Rajouri during the month of November and December. In an official letter under number SHS/NHRM/J&K/1896-71 dated 18/02/2012 written to the Chief Medical Officer, (Vice Chairman, District Health Society) Rajouri by Mission Director, National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Yash Pal Sharma in which he raised serious concern over sudden increase of mother beneficiary figures given under drop back facility to pregnant mothers under Centrally Sponsored Scheme Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) in month of November and December 2012. In his letter to CMO, Rajouri he informed that grass root variations have been observed while analyzing the Monthly Progress Report of your district for the month of November and December 2012 in Referral Transport Component" The letter also showed drop back facilities given to pregnant mothers till ending November 2012 as 638, in Monthly Progress Report (MPR) of district to Mission Director National Rural Health, Jammu and Kashmir. Shockingly, this drop back facility figure raised to 3633 in an ending November 2012 in the Monthly Progress Report of district during the month of December 2012 instead of 638. However, Mission Director sought clarification from the Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri that how sudden increase of 2995 mother beneficiaries given drop back facility under Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), so that Government of India/administrative department is apprised accordingly. Nearly a month now, still mission director is waiting for the reply, while talking to this reporter, Dr. Yashpal said, "yes, we wrote this letter as figures did not match, yet I have not received any reply from the Chief Medical Officer.) Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri Zahoor Shawl categorically denied to talk on this issue and said, "I cannot comment on this." |
