| CWA celebrates world consumer rights day | | | ET Plus Report
Jammu, Mar 15: Consumers' Welfare Association (CWA) celebrated World Consumer Rights Day with students of Mahant Bachitar Singh College of Education and Technology (MBSCET) here on today. According to press release, Choudhary Mohd Ramzan, Minister for CAPD and Transport was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Prof S K Badyal, Principal MBSCET presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion the minister assured the audience that after 31st of March home-delivery of LPG by the dealers has been made compulsory and the consumer affairs work will be independently looked after by a Joint Director under Director CAPD so he can deal exclusively with consumer problems. Suitable infrastructure shall be provided. The minister admitted that adequate attention to multifarious consumer problems needs to be paid. He said the government is alive to the concerns of consumers he will take necessary steps to improve the system. P. A. Malik Director CAPD informed the students about the help-lines available with the CAPD for making immediate complaints at all time. Public should be Educated to use these services made available by the government agencies. Other speakers also addressed on the seminar. |
