Four teams qualify for Carrom final in BGSBU

Rajouri, Mar 15: Four teams of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) have qualified for Carrom final match, here today.
According to press release, the final match will be played in the coming days.
A total of 54 teams of Carrom game including 4 women teams have participated in inter-departmental tourney, which was organized by BGSBU.
As per details, the matches of Carrom were played in two categories viz Men's and Women's and a total of 54 teams played the game. The matches of Men's category were held in Sabrang Hostel while that of Women's were held in the Old Girls Hostel of the Campus. In the Men's category, Ummer of Department of Computer Sciences and Madni of Civil Engineering qualified for the final match in Carrom game and on the other hand Shaviya Manhas of B-Tech 4th Semester and Osheen Kundal of B-Tech 6th Semester qualified for final round. The final match of the game will be played in the coming days.
Congratulating the students, Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad A Hamal has said that wining did not matter but participation is important and students should perform better in academics as well in sports and cultural activities to bring laurels for this institution.
He said that the University wants to compete with the rest of world in regard
of academics as well as sports. "We want to produce a complete personality and role models for rest of the students of the world and we did not believe only in distributing degrees" VC said adding that sports and cultural activities play vital role in the overall development and these activities are very important in building the personality of a scholar in the University.
