Jammu Mar 15: Department of Fisheries organized one day training programme on "Water Quality and Fish Disease Management" under RKVY at RS Pura Jammu here today in which atleast 100 fish rearing enthusiasts from different districts of Jammu division participated. The resource persons namely Sanjesh Gupta, Project Officer RFFDA, Jammu, Jagmohan Singh, Inspector Fisheries Jammu and Narender Kumar, Extension Officer, RFFDA Jammu spoke on the occasion and made participants aware about the importance and benefits of fish culture with special emphasis on water quality and disease management in fish ponds. Sanjesh Gupta in his address stressed upon the farmers to regularly monitor the water quality of the fish ponds and to keep them under optimum conditions so as to get maximum yield. He also underlined the role of water quality management in fish ponds. Jagmohan singh Inspector fisheries, Jammu exhorted upon the farmers that the disease outbreak in the fish ponds and gave practical demonstration for analysis of some critical water parameters like Carbon dioxide, pH, alkalinity etc and remedial measures to keep them under control. K S Charak Joint Director Projects, Jammu who presided over the function in his address asked the farmers to avail maximum benefits from the various schemes of the department. |
