| Safai Karamcharis protest continues in Kathua | | |

Kathua, Sept 18: Safai Karamchari Union and Progressive Student Association (PSA) held a joint protest demonstration in support of their pending demands in Lkhanpur on Saturday. The protest was carried out under the leadership president Lakhanpur unit Safai Karamchari Union William and Safai Karamchari Union Sawan Chidda. During the procession it was impressed upon the Local Bodies and state government to come forth to address the long pending demands of Safai Karamcharis which include regularization of all the Safai Karamchari daily wagers who have completed seven years in service with municipal council, to release the salaries which is pending since long and filling up the vacant posts of Safai Karamcharis in different Municipal councils and committees. In the procession the slogans were also raised against the 'undemocratic and oppressive' approach of the Director Local Bodies and state government towards the problems of the Safai Karamcharis. Speaking on the occasion the JJM spokesperson Dheeraj, president of Sarv Dharam Seva Samiti Robin Sharma and president of Safai Karamcharis Union Sawan Chidda strongly criticized callous attitude of the concerned authorities of the local bodies in connection of solving the problems of Safai Karamcharis and leaving aside them to face hardships and forced them to hold the strike. |
