Peoples Conference to intensify fight against dynastic rule | | | early times report SRINAGAR, Sept 21: To broad base its party in Kashmir Valley, the Peoples Conference (PC) patriarch Sajjad Gani Lone has now concentrated on South Kashmir and Central Kashmir also by holding public meetings and rallies there. Convinced with the People's Conference Party leader and the policies and programmes of the party more and more people are joing in his bandwagon. Mr Lone who held a public rally at Devsar Kulgam constituency of south Kashmir got a shot in arm after the former CPI (M) leader and contestant candidate Mohammed Maqbool Ganai in 2008 Assembly elections along with his supporters joined the Party. Lone while apprsing the polcies and programmes of his Party to the people during the public rally held the ruling alliance in the State responsible for the present mess. He said the NC exploited the people by giving hollow slogans and assuring plebiscite for years together and later took a complete U turn to taste the power again. Now it is trying to misled the people on the name of autonomy which has been eroded by it along with the Congress party which was ruling at New Delhi, he said, adding to continue dynastic rule in the State, the NC leaders continue to exploit and mislead the common Kashmiris. Lone said however the Kahsmirs will no longer by misled by such a false and hollow slogans of NC and they have a complete faith in the alternative leadership which is committed to bring the Kashmiris out of present turmoil and assure an era of peace and prosperity for them in future. He said the PC believes in negotiations and peaceful solution to the peoples problems and this is the reason that Party decided to join the political process and contest the elections. He said with the mass support his Party will be able to find an everlasting solution to the sufferings of the people. Later in another public meeting Dr Syed Sherazi a prominent social activist joined the People's Conference at Ganderbal under the leadership of Mir Ghulam Rasool district coordinator of the Party along with his associates. Addressing the public meeting Mir appealed the people to come forward and rid the State of dynastic rule and this will be a great freedom for them. He asked the people to join hands and fight against the poverty, exploitation, communalism and regionalism and the forces who have created a wedge among the different sections of society just for their vote bank politics. Meanwhile sources said the NC is losing ground in Valley as its cadres feel totally disillusioned with the Party with its present policies and programmes. The Congress has already given the signal that there is no biding on the party to have a post poll alliance with NC as PDP is also not untouchable for Congress. Sources said the PDP which is emerging as a strong alternative to NC in four South Kashmir districts of Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam is also making its position strong in Budgam and Ganderbal districts of Central Kashmir and Bandipora, Kupwara and Baramulla district of North Kashmir. The peoples Conference is eyeing Kupwara as well as Baramulla and Ganderbal district also and incase of any poll tie up with PC and PDP the two parties can create record during forth coming elections in Kashmir, sources added. |
