Scuffle between Azad, Soz loyalists on Airport Road 9/21/2013 11:59:02 PM If the Airport premises witnessed verbal duel between two senior leaders, the functionaries and leaders down the line in hierarchy and from within the Youth body of the party also saw a bitter tussle followed by even blows. The loyalists of Azad and Soz camp came to blows over the issue of pictures on hoardings and posters that were to be adorned along the airport road and at the venue of function. Sources said a group of over 15 loyalists comprising senior functionaries from youth Congress having loyalty to Azad camp resisted the use of pictures of PCC Chief and a couple of ministers on the hoardings and instead insisted that Azad's pictures be used . The arguments continued and eventually took the shape of physical fight when the two sides came to blows against each other . Among the Azad loyalists prominent were Bilal Dev, Amir Rasool , Amin Bhat , sources said. Abid Bhat who the general secretary of youth body while confirming the tussle and fight between the two groups said it was imperative for all bodies including the youth wing to follow what the party guidelines suggest in tersm of following protocol while using the pictures of leaders. The protocol says that the picture of the state president has to be used before any one else ….how can anyone resist and oppose that guideline , he asked. Perturbed over the fight , Abid said it amply shows that there are certain elements who want to weaken the party at the grass root level and it was for the high command to take cognizance of such acts and elements. Sources also said at the guest house where Ambika Soni was to meet delegations later , all was not well and did not go smoothly.
