| Allegations against General VK Singh condemnable: JKNPP | | | JAMMU, Sept 21: Reacting strongly to the statement of J&K Chief Minister calling for a CBI enquiry into the alleged concocted story of plotting to overthrow the J&K Chief Minister by the Army Chief General V.K. Singh, the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) said that the Chief Minister and the entire media must understand that a General shall not hunt with mosquitoes. In après statement issued here today, General Secretary and Spokesman of JKNPP HC Jalmeria said that the government has turned itself into a laughing stock by saying that the then Army Chief General V.K. Singh has constituted a so-called Army Cell to dislodge Omar Abdullah's government. He said that this not only funny but shocking too as the so-called revelations amount to exposing the highly sensitive operations of the Army. He further said that General V.K. Singh certainly earned the wrath of the ruling Congress leadership by his eminent presence in an enormous/massive rally of the ex-servicemen in Haryana where Gujarat Chief Minister was also present. The JKNPP leader said that the entire government stood embarrased when the serving Army Chief moved the Supreme Court against the discrimination and maltreatment he met at the hands of the present government in connection with his premature retirement. Whatever may be the situation, even if there was any plot prepared by the Army Chief that should not have been publicized to create division within the rank and file of the people and the administration. |
