| Indian soldiers may be abducted under new BAT strategy, intelligence inputs | | | early times report
Rajouri, Sept 21: If intelligence inputs are to be believed the experts have apprehended that members of Border Action Team (BAT) during their next attempt, if carried out may abduct the Indian soldiers instead executing them under the new strategies chalked out by BAT OP mentors.
According to sources following strong reactions from India over two BAT Operation from across the other side (early January and August this year), the Pakistan in a bid to counter the strong Indian response including allegations that Pakistan army in collaboration with ISI and terrorist outfits have been facilitating the infiltration of armed intruders by opening heavy firing on the Indian soldiers manning the LoC in order to divert their attentions from intruders side.
Intelligence sources also observed Pakistan in a bid to show the world community it is not Pakistan but Indian army which have been targeting the Pakistan civil population and involved in truce violation and cross border attempts would probably abduct and produce Indian soldiers before them to substantiate it's allegations against India. Intelligence sources further added that one terrorist camp is operative very close to LoC facing Mendher which is imparting training to about 40 hard core terrorists who are ready to intrude any time from Blakot, Hamirpur, Tarkundi Gambhirir sectors imparting trading.
Sources further added that it cannot be denied that these terrorists mostly from Pakistan/POK could be members of Border Action Team (BAT) and may prove dangerous if timely detection by Indian troops is not taken.
Here it needs to mention that immediately after the killing of five soldiers by the members of BAT in Mendher sector on the intervening night of August 5/6 Maj Gen VP Singh, GOC Rajouri based Infantry Division had said, " We are aware of it and it will get, as in the past also, adequate response with full force at the place and time of our own choice.' He further had added that he had directions from Defence Minister and Army Chief to retaliate at our choice of time, place and wish.
Information pouring in from across the border that keeping in view the next general elections in the country and state, Pakistan will try to push maximum number of terrorists before the onset of winter season when passes in upper reaches would get closed due to fresh snowfall. Following this more and heavy skirmishes are expected followed by heavy firing on the borders during next few weeks. Army has plugged every possible point on the Line of Control which may be used by the intruders even night vision instruments to detect the movement of the intruders too have been installed. Meantime at the side lines of a function held recently in Army School at Rajouri, Maj Gen VP Singh, GOC Infantry Division showing high morale said, "Our deployment is very effective and strong." "Our fence is very strong and no infiltration will be allowed if Pakistan thinks that its troops are able to push the intruders," he said categorically. |
