JAMMU, Sept 21: Superb innings from the duo of Aveesh Sharma and Akash Choudhary today guided JKCA Greens to a fine five-wicket win in the ongoing practice matches for under-19 probable, organised by Jammu wing of the J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, Akash took four wickets to help JKCA Greens restrict JKCA Reds at a total of 226 in the 50 overs game after former won the toss and opted to field. Later, Aveesh played brilliant innings of 51 runs to help his side attain the target in 46 overs for the loss of five wickets.
Skipper, Ateev Saini remained top scorer with 22-ball 33 runs, followed by Rahul Sagotra and Mohit Tang, who contributed 28 runs each to the total. Tushar added 21 runs. From JKCA Greens, Akash emerged as most successful bowler with four for 25 in 10 overs while Sunil took three wickets and Abid Mushtaq bagged two.
In reply, JKCA Greens overhauled the opponent total making 229 runs for five wickets sparing four overs of their innings. Aveesh Sharma (51) made half century facing 66 deliveries with the help of six boundaries. Surya Mahotra and Nipun Verma contributed 44 and 23 runs respectively.
From JKCA Reds, Ramandeep bagged three wickets, followed by Rajan and Tayyab, who shared a piece each. |
