SRINAGAR, Sept 21: Singhpora Sports Club defeated Uplina Club by five goals to one to reach the next round of the ongoing District Baramulla Hockey Championship, organised by Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at Government Degree College ground, Baramulla, here today. Jatinder Singh struck twice to make it a big win for Singhpora Club. He sounded the board in the ninth and 27th minute of the match. Simranjeet Singh, Ali Mohd and Mohd Hussain added one goal each in the 35th, 49th and 58th minute of the match respectively. From Uplina Sports Club, Amrik Singh reduced the margin by converting a penalty corner into goal in 44th minute. In all, Singhpora got six penalty corners but none could be converted into goal. On the other hand, Uplina successfully convered one of the four four chances came their way. Today's match was officiated by Rajinder Singh (junior), Maninder Singh (umpires), Parmeet Singh (judge) and Ranbir Singh (technical official).
