Rajouri, Sept 28: To fight against this discrimination the members from civil society irrespective to religion and caste have floated a new organization under the name and style of Anti Illegal Reservation Front (AIRF) to get justice to deserving deprived from reservation for their upliftment. In a meeting held at Rajouri today intellectuals, RTI activists, members of various NGOs, advocates, members of civil society after having threadbare discussion nominated SK Mughal , Ashwani Sharma and Rajinder Mehata as adhoc president, general secretary and legal advisor respectively ofAIRF. Raising the discrimination with some deserving cases from irrespective to caste and community, the members demanded either the reservation rules must be enforced / implement strictly or declare both the districts Pahari region so that they can also cum under ST and RBA status. Keeping in view discrimination with deserving cases, they said, "AIRF was constituted to check the illegal benefits enjoyed by people who do not fulfill the required eligibility for RBA etc." Citing examples of discrimination members said that some RTI's have revealed that thousands of such cases where family Income was touching between Rs 6 lakh - Rs 10 lakh or more per annum have got selections/promotions under RBA category. S.K.Mughal asked why only 2 % reservation for social castes? This is an irony that only 2% reservation has been kept for people belonging to weaker sections of the society (social castes). "Children belonging to Chamar, Lohar, Mochi, Safaiwala, Teli, Chopan, Dhobi, Najar, Hanji, Doomb categories etc have least access to education but being given just 2 % reservation do we feel that government does justice to these people?, he added. On the other hand RBA category has been provided 20% reservation, he said and added that AiRF will fight for this discrimination and for that it may go to any extent. |
