| Stormy LA session likely to witness war within Govt | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 29: The legislative Assembly session beginning tomorrow is certainly going to stormy. Not only the main opposition party PDP is expected to agitate various issues, but the coalition partners, National Conference (NC) and Congress have aggression on the mind. The issue of merger of Jammu and Kashmir with India, raked up by none other than chief minister Omar Abdullah with European Union delegation has irked the Congress party and its senior minister Sham Lal Sharma lashed out at chief minister over his statement. Just couple of days ahead of the Assembly session, Sharma asked chief minister to resign from if he really feels J&K merger is incomplete with India. Now, when both chief minister and Sharma will be sitting on the treasury benches, the atmosphere is certainly going to be electrical. The NC members of legislative Assembly of valley will not be sitting without stalling the house. They will certainly attack Congress party and its minister Sham Lal Sharma for attacking chief minister. It is a known fact that relations between coalition partners are at all time low after whatever happened post Kargil council elections. The demand Congress to implement 73rd amendment in J&K is also not going well with the NC and there are chances that opposition will not get much opportunity to attack government as government from within will be facing opposition. During budget session of legislature in February-March this, it was Sham Lal Sarma who performed the role of opposition from within government and was very vocal to control the MLA Langate, Engineer Abdul Rashid for his statement against India and central government. Moreover, the government will also be cornered by main opposition part, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Shopian incident and many other things unfolding in the state for past few months. Besides that the Jammu based parties, sitting in opposition have already made it clear that they will bring adjournment motion on couple of issues and recent terror attack in Hiranagar and Samba will also be raised in the Assembly. But the main attraction of this monsoon session will be the fight within government and the session is going to be critical for government. |
