| Militant recruitment at its peak in south Kashmir | | Around 16 new faces join militancy | | Javaid Naikoo
Srinagar, Sept 29: Not only bringing intensity in attacks on forces across the state in recent months, experienced militants according to the details received are also successfully recruiting new faces from Kashmir to strengthen the groups and guide the militants coming from Pakistan and other parts of the state in their operations in Kashmir. The details received from the intelligence sources reveal that some prominent faces of militants active in south Kashmir have succeeded in recent months to recruit new faces from south Kashmir's Shopian, Pulwama and Kulgam districts and the process is on and increasing with every passing day. Militants have not only managed to recruit people from south Kashmir only but have some youth from Rajouri district. The militants coming from Pakistan are also guided by the local militants before they carry out any attack on forces across the state. The details reveal that new faces namely Aabid Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Muhammad Rather of Vehil shopian, Muhammad Abas Reshi alias Aabid Bhai son of Bashir Ahmad Reshi of Alsipora-Zainapora Shopian,Ashfaq Ahmad bhat son of Ghulam Muhammad Bhat of Chakoo -Hermain Shopian, Asif Ahmad Wani of Pulwama,Altaf Ahmad Rather of Pulwama,Bilal Ahmad Bhat of Keller area of Pulwama,Shabir Ahmad Gorsi of Keller Pulwama who was wanted in a murder case and he managed to fled away from the court complex Shopian and later joined militants,Hayatullah Bhat of Chenigam Yaripora-Kulgam,Altaf ahmad Kachroo of Mispora-Yaripora Kulgam,Shabir Ahmad Madni son of Abdul Rehman Madni of Pranhal Kulgam and two other youth from Tral area of Pulwama also joined militant groups of Lashkar-i-Toiba and Jaish-i-Muhammad in recent months while as Arshid Ahmad Sheikh son of Bashir Ahmad sheikh of Haripora -Zainapora-Shopian, Inam ul Haq Malla son of Muhammad Iqbal Malla of Pehlipora shopian alias as Waseem Bhai, Shabir Ahmad son of Muhammad Shafi of Kalkoat Rajouri and Junaid Ahmad of Rajouri as well who used to work in the house of Inam ul Haq Malla also joined militant groups after May 2012 and are active in south Kashmir. The details reveal that some prominent 5 to 10 year old faces of militants who belong to south Kashmir's Shopian and Pulwma districts are active in south Kashmir presently and are successfully recruiting new faces and handling the militants coming from Pakistan, besides they have altogether change their mode of operations as compared to early 90's or mid 2000. Sources said that number of youth who joined different militant groups particularly Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-i-Toiba since May 2012 can be more and the areas can be Shopian and Trala of Pulwma district as the parents of youth who join different militant groups fear to register the names of their loved ones in their respective police stations. Sources also said that as per the inputs received so far from the ground, all the militants coming from Pakistan are distributed among the groups of Kashmiri militants to expose them to the topography and security structures of the areas wherever they are posted to operate and have been asked to operate in collaboration with local militants only every time. A good number of Pakistan origin militants operating in Kashmir have been seen by forces in many operations in recent months, sources said. |
