| Allies at loggerheads again: NC 'stealing' foundation stones, says Vakil | | Cong gives a miss to 'Flyover 'function, R&B minister too stays away | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 29: The two allies in the ruling coalition National Conference and Congress continue to play the game of one up man ship , having utter disregard for each other with both least bothered to follow the 'coalition dharma' , not to speak of working in tandem or coordination, which is just impossible in the present order when leaders of both the parties are only in bashing mood and mode. NC which is in the habit of not taking Congress into confidence in small , big decisions has done it again, pushing to the wall the existence of Congress as main alliance partner with whose support it is ruling the state. It is again NC which has provoked Congress in trying to obliterate, as alleged by the Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil, the party's contribution in development works , by removing the foundation stone where ex Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's name was inscribed on a hospital building in district Baramulla. That NC is simply contemptuous of the Congress can be gauged from a fresh incident which corroborates this . In a gala function organized to lay foundation stones for prestigious Fly over projects in Srinagar on Friday, it looked that the government is being run only by NC. It was all NC show as apart from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, those who 'graced ' the occasion were few NC ministers and a few functionaries of the party. Congress absence was conspicuous . What made it more obvious was the fact that even the concerned minister who happens to be a cabinet minister of the Congress party was not present in the high prolife function in the heart of the city. Unavailability factor for Congress is simply unpalatable. Or it is just otherwise, that Congress for some reasons must have chosen to stay away from the function, most likely it being so often that NC doesn't want to inform or take the alliance partner on board on the projects where it wants to reap the political benefits alone. It was senior party leader who is articulate and bold enough to take on NC on every wrong today came out with a scathing attack against the partner with CM at the centre of controversy alleging that the foundation stone for district hospital was laid way back in 2008 by the then CM Ghulam Nabi Azad was removed and in this place a new one with the name of Omar Abdullah has been installed. While hitting out NC on this move, Vakil has not hesitated to use the words and expression like stealing ….degraded intensions and motives in doing so. |
