Early Times Report

KATHUA, Oct 4: A fortnight long awareness campaign on safety of women organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) concluded here today at Government Degree College (GDC).
The campaign to spread the awareness about women safety among the students of GDC, Kathua began on September 20.
Student unit of ABVP under the supervision of Pooja Mahajan and Priti Raina supervised the campaign.
All senior ABVP leaders are participating in the events and all the units are holding different activities to generate awareness in the society on the issue of national significance.
"The decision to launch the campaign was taken keeping in view the recent rise in incidents of crime against women all over the country. Fact is that in many parts of the country it has become difficult for women or girls to come out from their houses as there is sharp rise in the incidents of acid attacks, eve teasing, rape and molestation," said ABVP.
During the fortnight long campaign many activities like organizing symposiums, forming human chains, etc were organized.
