Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 4: 18 employees of Regional Transport Office (RTO) were booked under ESMA as they boycotted work and protested in favour of their demands. They were booked by Trikuta Nagar Police under FIR no 211/2013 under 5 ESMA Act. The employees were booked following the complaint by ARTO Jammu that the work in the office has been paralyzed due to the strike observed by the employee of the RTO. Their strike also made the commoners suffer. The employees went to the strike in support of the demands which include enhancement of the retiring age of the employee, eradication of pay anomaies,regularization of daily wagers, besides others. Pertinently, the District Magistrate Jammu issued order stating that the strike and protest made after October 2 would be considered illegal. Sources said that on receiving the complaint Trikuta Nagar police registered a case under FIR number 211 under section 5 ESMA Act against 18 employees. The booked employees have been identified as Krishan Lal (Head Clerk), Dimple Choudhary (senior assistant), Mohammed Sharief (senior assistant), Malika Kohli (senior assistant), Hamid Manhas (senior assistant), Mittal Pandoh (senior assistant) Alam Din(senior assistant), Rahul Bakshi (senior assistant), Ravinder Raina(senior assistant), Hamid Choudhary (accountant), Jai Gopal(senior assistant), Ashish Manhas(senior assistant), Hasib ul Rehamn(senior assistant), Manoj Mangotra, Jagdish Kumar, Vikramjeet Mangi, (Junior assistant), Girdhari Lal and Kuldeep Raj (both peons). |
