REASI, Oct 4: In order to ensure strict implementation of various provisions of Motor Vehicle Act, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO), Reasi conducted an awareness camp for drivers besides holding routine checking of different modes of transportation at Mahore today.
Led by ARTO Rajesh Gupta, the team made aware the drivers about the perils of over-speeding, overloading and use of mobile while driving.
Gupta told drivers that since Mahore is a hilly terrain, it is dangerous to drive rashly and use mobile while driving.
On the occasion, ARTO Gupta also penalized 15 offenders for overloading, overcharging and deficiency of documents and imposed on the spot fine after compounding their offences for violation of various provisions of the Motor Vehicle (MV) Act.
ARTO Gupta appealed the vehicle operators to adhere to the rules and always ensure possession of valid documents particularly driving license to avoid punitive action.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mahore Ashwani Kumar Khajuria and Naib Tehsildar Rattan Singh were also present during the drive. |
