KATHUA, Oct 4: The 120 MW Sewa-II Power Station of NHPC, Mashka organized a series of free vaccination camps and also conducted scholarship distribution programmes at various Government schools located in Basohli Tehsil under its Corporate Social Responsibility-Sustainable Development (CSR-SD) scheme. The programmes have been conducted under the guidance of P.K. Langer, Chief Engineer - Incharge, Sewa-II Power Station who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Sewa-II Power Station has taken up Typhoid Vaccine in its vaccination programmes which is not covered under routine vaccination programme in State Health programme in order to render additional protection against diseases. The camps had also received support from the State Health Department. During the camps typhoid vaccines were given free of cost to school children of Government Primary School, Chamoor, Government Primary School, Deosal, Government Girls Middle School, Khaddi, Government Primary School, Kudera, Government Primary School Hutt, Government High School Hutt and Government Primary School, Khajura. During the camps the cost of vaccines was borne entirely by NHPC. The camps have benefitted a total of 250 school children from these areas.
