| DAEWM to dealers follow minister's direction | | | Jammu, Oct 4: Dealers Association Electronic Weighing Machine (DAEWM) Jammu today asked to dealers to follow the direction Minister of Legal Metrology Department Ramzan Choudhary. According to press release, general body meeting of DAEWM was today held at Press Club Jammu in which association's president Vinod Kumar Verma has appealed to dealers to follow advisories issued by Legal Metrology Department. He suggested Electronic weighing machine users that they should conduct timely check-up of their weighing machine from concerned department. He appealed to Legal Metrology Department to cooperate with licensed dealers. "Department should take strict action against those dealers, who are selling sub-standard weighing machines in marker. Association will support the department to punish such persons who are involved in malpractice", Verma said. "Our state is facing militancy for long time. It has also affected trade. Suddenly increase in stamping fee by the legal metrology department", he said, adding that fee of Rs 45 has increased Rs 200 and Rs 75 to Rs 500 it was affecting stamping. He appealed to concern Minister, Ramzan Choudhary to save the association from un-justified losses. Secretary of association and other officer bearers were also present in the meeting.
