| HC issues notice to CS on security of court complex | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 31(JNF): In a Public Interest Litigation filed by an Advocate Sumit Nayyar seeking directions to State to provide proper infrastructure and security cover-up in the Court complex Janipur Jammu and to take effective measures of ensuring safety and security of the judges, advocates, employees and clients, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Hasnain Massodi and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing Sr. Adv Sunil Sethi with Adv Veenu Gupta for the petitioner issued notice to Chief Secretary J&K, Additional Chief Secretary Home, IGP Jammu, SSP Jammu and MD JKPCC.
While issuing notice to the stat, Division Bench arrayed Commissioner/Secretary Law & Parliamentary Affairs and Registrar General of J&K High Court as party respondents and also issued notice to them.
Division Bench directed that Registrar General, Commissioner/Secretary Law and IGP Jammu shall make a joint inspection of the District Courts complex Janipur at peak hours and submit a compliance report detailing the available parking areas, number of vehicles parked within District Court complex, on road side leading to District Court complex to High Court and other areas, availability of advocate's parking space within District Court complex and High Court.
Division Bench after hearing hearing Sr. Adv Sunil Sethi with Adv Veenu Gupta further directed Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation shall also take steps to clear bushes/shrubs from the area around the District Court complex as well as the High Court complex so that the advocates and the litigants may not face any uncertainty and directed Registry to list this PIL on November 18, 2013. |
