| Cheat gets 3 years RI for fake Employment Visa | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 31: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu SR Gandhi today awarded three years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 5000/- to one Baldev Singh s/o Manohar Singh r/o Ludhiana who was facing trial and investigation for the last 11 years for cheating his relative on the assurance of employment visa for Germany. According to the police case that on December 16, 2002 complainant lodged a written report that one Baldev Singh who is his relative assured him for adjustment employment visa at Germany and thus charged Rs 2.50 lakh but not provided employment visa. On this police registered a case u/s 406/420 RPC and after completion of investigation challan was presented. While awarding three years RI to accused, CJM Jammu SR Gandhi after hearing CPO Sanjay Kohli with Senior PO Rajeshwar Basotra appearing for the state observed that the culpable dishonest intention of the accused in the facts and circumstances of the case right at the beginning can be presumed inasmuch as a person knowing that he was no lawful authority sitting in India making a representation to a person that he would settle him in foreign country and that person stand induced by such representation and makes the payment of money and further observed that it is the case where a relative duped his close relative who borrowed money from his relative and friends for employment in foreign country and accused cheated him. —JNF |
