| 1 killed, 29 injured as SRTC bus plunges into gorge | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Oct 31: Atleast one person was killed and 29 others were injured when a bus rolled down and plunged into gorge near Peddu Nallah, when driver lost control near Manpur area. According to police, the bus of Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation, was on its way from Delhi to Billawar. When the bus reached near Mahanpur, at around 8 AM, the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp curve. Consequently the bus fell into a gorge leading to death of one person identified as Rahul son of Surinder resident of Bani. 29 other people also sustained injuries and were taken to district hospital Kathua and GMC Jammu for their further treatment. Police rushed to the spot and launched the rescue operation. MLA Basohli Jagdish Raj Spolia also rushed the spot and express shock over the tragic accident. He urged the government to complete Trama Hospital with the facility of Blood Bank without any further delay. |
