| CCI delegation calls on JMC Commissioner | | | early times report Jammu, Oct 31: The delegation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its Sr. Vice President Sham Lal Langer and comprising of Jr. Vice President Anil Gupta, Secretary General Arun Gupta, Secretary Deepak Aggarwal and Treasurer Bharat Bhushan Gupta called on the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Kiran Wattal in his Office and discussed with him various issues including the sealing of Shops by JMC. Chamber delegation informed the Commissioner that Chamber is against adulteration but at the same time is concerned about the sealing of shops as the shopkeepers wait for a year for Diwali and other festivals to come so that they can get brisk business, but due to the drive launched by the Jammu Municipal Corporation during the festival season the whole business community is under the grip of panic. The Chamber delegation asked the Commissioner JMC to stop the drive of sealing the shops during the present festival season and the other issues pertaining to licenses etc shall be discussed after the festival season is over. Commissioner JMC assured the Chamber delegation that there will be no further sealing of shops during the ongoing festival season and at the same time he asked the Chamber to educate the shopkeepers to maintain food standards and quality parameters. Chamber team comprising of Sham Lal Langer, Sr. Vice President, Arun Gupta, Secretary General and Deepak Aggarwal, Secretary visited the Border Area of Gharkhal and talked to the people affected due to the Firing by Pakistani troops. They informed that they have not been compensated by the government for the losses suffered by them due to border firing. Chamber team assured the villagers that they will take up the matter with the higher authorities including the district administration so that they could get the compensation at the earliest. |
