The protestors assembled at main-square of town and then took out a protest rally from Dak bunglow which culminated outside the office of the Dy Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri. Protestors including relatives of the deceased resented the 'inhuman and barbaric act' committed by accused couple identified namely as Imitiaz Ahmed and Shareen Kousher and demanded capital punishment in their favor. Bisharat Qazi and Ashraf Qazi close relatives of the deceased and Liyakat Choudhry appealed to the DDC and SSP Rajouri to forward their memorandum to the Chief Justice of High Court and Chief Minister so that a fast court can be established at Rajouri for speedy justice in this 'inhuman act'. Expressing their solidarity with the deceased minor, the students namely Mohd Hussain, Sajia Kousher, Rukhsan Kousher who handed over the memorandum to DDC , Hemant Kumar and SSP Mubadir Latifi demanded security for the school going students. They also appealed to instruct the school authorities to hand over the students either to parents or to guardians after school functioning. Students also demanded action against anti social elements operating in Rajouri district and curb the activities of the criminal. Newly appointed DDC Rajouri Hemant Kumar and SSP while expressing their heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family assured the protestors that every possible help to them in case of any such emergency. SSP exhorted the students to bring in to the notice of police any suspicious activity being noticed by them. Meanwhile relatives of deceased and members of civil society appealed to appoint a special prosecutor in this case so that the early justice can be delivered to the family of the deceased. However resenting the delay in investigation protestors demanded departmental action against police officials who failed to locate the deceased being held hostage by the accused. Pertinent to mention that Shalik Mansoor a minor was kidnapped on October 6 by one Imitiaz and was kept in his rented house in the same locality, however the victim was strangulated by the accused couple on October 7 when they noticed heavy presence of police near their house.
