| Intelligence agencies warn of infiltration attempts | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 3: The intelligence has received specific inputs about the possible infiltration attempt in coming days. The report has been send to home and defence ministry. Senior officials have been asked to direct close vigil along the borders. "A number of reports are coming up about possible infiltration attempts especially from the international border. A definite movement is also seen there. Security personnel have been directed to keep strong vigil," said an intelligence official. According the intelligence reports, the information has been coming on for quite some time. The arrest of a Pakistani youth staying with a Gujjar in Hiranagar for long duration had made intelligence agencies that there is a possibility of crucial information being send across the border from the points along the international border. "The infiltration attempt from the LoC is not possible at this time especially in Hilly areas. The LoC also starts from Akhnoor, so it could also be the point of infiltration and security personnel have been asked to be on the guard," said an official. This information was also briefed to the CM and also discussed with him by the GoC-in-C Northern Command who called on him. There intelligence reports suggest that terrorists have been directed to disrupt coming polls not only in the State but in other parts of the country. Infiltrations attempts can be made from the J&K and from here the terrorists can move out to other parts of the country where they can be contacted by their point person\. "Police and intelligence agencies have also been directed to keep tab on the sleeping cells of the terrorists as these are the people who the terrorists after infiltration would contact. The attack at a rally of Modi in Patna shows that terrorists have chalked out plan to disrupt polls and we are tapping their movements," said the intelligence official.
